White Swiss Shepherd

Look at the beautiful coat ²

The White Swiss Shepherd is a breed of dogs that started from Switzerland and has the same origins as the German Shepherd.

Its snow white fur makes it an easy favorite for owners who like dogs that are medium sized, well-built and elegant.

They usually go to around 24-26 inches and are very medium in weight.

They are known to be smart, playful, energetic and attentive.

They make excellent watchdogs that are perfect for families looking for a sweet yet protective dog for their house.

Kuvasz

Can you imagine how much shampoo is
used at bath time? ³

The Kuvasz breed of dogs are known to be loyal and fearless creatures.

They have white fur and are known to be Hungary’s guardian breed for royalty.

They grow to over 30 inches and weigh around 100-115 pounds.

Their large build makes them elegant work dogs. Kuvasz are smart majestic creatures fit for royalty.

They make great dogs for families with kids as they are gentle and protective at the same time. Their elegant appearance makes them irresistible to pet and go crazy over.

In this humble writer’s opinion, the Kuvasz is definitely one of the best-looking dog breeds there is. They are simply a breed with absolutely zero bad angles. Picture Perfect 24/7.

Standard Poodle

White is one of many colours that
Standard Poodles come in ⁴

Poodles are probably most well known to be dogs of the wealthy.

Whether it be in cartoons, movies and other forms of pop culture, Poodles are always depicted to be the proud breed of aristocrats and royalty.

And it’s very fitting too as they really do look like royalty dogs with their unique coat of hair.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see a poodle wearing a little poodle crown that has the word “Princess” engraved on it.

Admit it, that would be extremely adorable.

They are known to be very intelligent and easily trainable.

They grow to about more than a foot tall and can weigh 40-70 pounds depending on the gender.

Their trademark appearance of puffy fur makes it fun for owners to style the way their poodle looks.

They are active and energetic dogs that crave for attention from their owners.

Poodles are definitely a classic when it comes to dog breed.

Great Pyrenees

How warm that fluffy coat must be in the snow.⁵

The Great Pyrenees is a large dog breed that sports long white fur and can live up to 10-12 years.

They can grow up to 32 inches and can weigh over 100 pounds.

They are a strong dog breed that was bred to prevent wolves from attacking sheep farms.

Great Pyrenees dogs are also known to be intelligent and mellow.

Their large size is complemented by their calm demeanor, making them insanely adorable and utterly irresistible.

This also earned them the nickname “the big dog of the mountains.”

A very fitting nickname for a dog of great strength and endurance.

They can be great companions to any family looking for a gentle giant for their home.

Siberian Husky

White Siberian Huskies are quite rare ⁶

Definitely one of the most popular dog breeds in the world, the Siberian Husky garnered great attention due to them being very similar in appearance as actual wolves.

Siberian Huskies are sometimes considered to be the “boy next door” breed of dogs.

And everyone gets why, they are just simply cool like that.

Initially bred to pull sleds across icy paths, Siberian Huskies are both resistant to the cold due to their thick fur and very energetic.

They often need a lot of exercise on a daily basis and love any kind of physical activity.

They love human companionship are easily trained when given the right amount of attention.

The Siberian Husky is definitely on the top list for “Coolest Looking Dogs” and is an easy favorite for any sane dog lover.

Komondor

Long coat? What long coat?! ⁷

The Komondor is a dog breed that is known for their long straight fur coat.

Their most distinctive quality proves to be the biggest challenge for owners.

The Komondor’s fur match the appearance of actual chords and lengthens over time.

This requires a lot of maintenance and upkeep from the owner to keep the Komondor’s coat neat and clean.

They are also considered to be large dogs that can weigh a little under 100 pounds.

They are very loyal to their human companions and are known to be somewhat a clingy breed.

Though for a breed as elegant as the Komondor, owners are sure to not mind a little cling.

This fantastic breed also appears in three more of my lists:

11 large blonde dog breeds

9 big curly haired dog breeds

Irish Wolfhound

A pair of Irish Wolfhounds: the stuff of legend ⁸

The Irish Wolfhound is a hound dog breed originating from Ireland.

It was bred for the purpose of hunting game and for protection against wolves.

Grey is the most recognised colour of a Wolfhound, but you will sometimes see a White coated dog.

They can also come with Black, Brindle or Red coats.

Their coats are made up of long hair, with a very rough or untidy look to it.

To me it makes an Irish Wolfhound looks a bit bewildered…

They are often shown in literature because of their size and mastery over hunting game. They grow to about 32 inches and weigh from 120-155 pounds.

Irish Wolfhounds are known to be an insanely strong and fast breed. God knows this little author doesn’t want to be chased down or hunted by one.

This makes it perfect for owners who love to hunt or love to spend a lot of time doing outdoor activities.

A white Borzoi ⁹

Borzoi

Also considered as a dog for the rich and royalty, the Borzoi is a proud and dignified breed that both elegant and functional at the same time.

Solid white Borzois are quite hard to come by- they are more common with white coats with dark patches.

Other coat colours that Borzois have include Brindle and Cream.

They have a lovely silky coat which sometimes can be flat or have a slight curl to it.

Originally bred to be hunters, the Borzoi rely on eye sight to track and run after game.

They are an athletic breed and are very energetic creatures.

This makes the Borzoi a perfect mix between elegance and function.

If you’re looking to own a Borzoi, training is very much needed in the early stages because of their tendency to be independent.

Needless to say, that owning a Borzoi will definitely be an infinitely fun experience for any kind of owner.

Maremma Sheepdog

The Maremma Sheepdog is a breed of dogs that are bred to guard livestock in Central Italy.

It has a thick white coat of fur and grows to about 26-29 inches.

It’s size, strength and agility make it a good choice to be an effective guardian of livestock against wild wolves.

The Maremma Sheepdog, while courageous, are considered to be very friendly and well balanced when it comes to general temperament.

Like other guardian dogs, they are very protective of their territory and owners making them a perfect companion for a family looking for fluffy cuddles and a little bit of protection at the same time.

Briard

Probably one of the shaggiest breeds of dogs you will ever see, the Briard is a breed of dog that is intelligent and sociable with strangers.

They grow to about 22-27 inches and can weigh around 70-100 pounds.

They are known to be extremely affectionate to people around them which makes them great as family dogs. Briards are easily trainable and are very smart as a breed.

They may need a certain amount of attention but with a dog as adorable and as affectionate as a Briard, that really won’t be a problem for anyone.

Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog

The Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog probably has one of the most complicated breed names there is.

They are another breed of dogs that were used as guardians of livestock in, you guessed it, Romania.

They sport a long coat of hair which can require frequent grooming to maintain.

They are considered to be loyal, smart and very protective.

They love to be around people all the time and want constant care and attention.

Again, not that hard to give to a dog as adorable as that.

It only goes to show how much the Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog can love its family and companions.

Slovensky Cuvac

The Slovensky Cuvac has a very cool history in that the breed originated from Arctic wolves.

Another breed of guard dogs for livestock, the Slovensky Cuvac has a solid build and constitution. They grow to around 25-28 inches and can weigh to a little under 100 pounds.

They wear a thick and rich white coat of hair that allow them to survive in the harsh conditions of the Slovakian Mountains.

Their coat isn’t only for the cold but also for the looks.

The Slovensky Cuvac is definitely one of the most elegant breeds there.

They proudly stand tall and are fearless companions fit for any adventurous owner.
